Being overweight can never be taken as a complement as it implies that there is a weight standard and we all must adhere to it. Fats have more than twice as many calories per gram as proteins and carbohydrates. This fact makes fat a prime target in the quest to reduce and control weight. The logic goes that simply reducing fat intake will lead to weight loss.
